Every week I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.
Sometimes these things are about business…
Sometimes they’re about life…
And other times they’re just completely random.
So with that said…
Let’s jump into the first thing on my mind this Monday morning.
1. Are you a spectator or are you a participant?
There are people on my email list who have been on the list for 4+ years, who have never acted on any of the advice I’ve given them.
They read all my emails…
They participate in my Facebook group…
They even email me questions from time to time…
But they never actually do anything.
They never try to get a client…
Or try to start an offer.
Why?
I’m sure there’s many reasons why…
But one of the big ones I notice is that they enjoy feeling like they’re doing something without actually doing something.
In short, they’re a spectator.
And not a participant.
So they probably know all the gossip going on in the industry…
And they even have a list of their favorite copywriters…
Yet they’ve never actually made a dollar from selling something online.
This is what it means to be a spectator.
It’s like watching reality TV to them.
I mean, if you have no interest in making money, then by all means be a spectator.
But if you’re serious about making money…
Then you need to be a participant.
You can’t just sit on the sidelines and watch.
Alright let’s hop to the second thought on my mind this morning…
2. I’m investing over $100k into my own business this year (instead of putting that money into real estate)
I’m a big fan of investing in yourself.
Why?
Cause that’s where I’ve seen the biggest ROI.
When I invested in myself and got a copy coach in 2014, that investment led to my income jumping from $220k a year to nearly $2.2 million a year.
So it had a huge ROI.
Way bigger than any stock or real estate fund I could have invested in.
So this year, I’m planning to make a big investment in myself (and my business) again.
How?
By investing in more leads for my email list.
This is money I set aside, and I originally was planning to put into real estate.
But after thinking on it, I decided that it would be smarter to use that money to build my list.
Why?
Because if I can take my list from 9300 people to 18,000 people (and keep it the same level of quality) I’ll be able to double the amount of money I currently make.
So I’ll be doing the same amount of work…
And making twice as much.
Who wouldn’t want that?
And when you compare it to a real estate fund that would give me a 16% return, it’s a no brainer…
Investing in yourself (or in your business) is always going to give you the highest ROI.
So make it a point to invest in yourself.
Alright let’s hop to the last thought on my mind this morning…
3. Beware of people who constantly suck the life out of you with their negative energy
I usually like helping people.
Especially when they’re down…
But I’ve learned from experience that people who are consistently negative, or in a bad mood should be avoided.
Why?
Because if you spend enough time around them, they’ll infect you…
And they’ll pull you down.
This is not what you want.
You want to be around people that lift you up…
That make you laugh…
And that encourage you…
If you’re constantly around people who are always in a bad mood…
Or who are always bitching about how shitty things are…
Then it’s only a matter of time before you start to sound like them.
So my advice?
Do everything you can to spend as little time as possible around these people.
And if you have the ability to totally eliminate them from your life, then do that.
Life’s too short to be around negative people.
Keep that in mind…
Alright, I need to wrap this puppy up…
Hope you got a nugget or two from this.
Enjoy your Monday,
– Justin
