Every Sunday I like to write about 3 random things on my mind.
Sometimes these things are business related…
Sometimes they’re life lessons…
And other times, it’s just random shit rolling through my head.
With that said, let’s dive in…
– Back in my 20’s and early 30’s, I was a pretty big drinker. I wasn’t a “drink everyday” type, but more of a big binge drinker on the weekends.
A normal night would be 10-12 drinks. And I’d spend the whole next day laying on the couch nursing a hangover.
Back in 2018 or so, I pretty much stopped that cold turkey.
Now I’m more what you would call a “special occasion drinker”.
So I’ll drink at birthdays, bachelor parties, weddings etc…
Anyways I haven’t had a drink since February, but yesterday I had a few cocktails in celebration of our event being done and the fact that the event went really well.
What’s funny is that I enjoy drinking more now even though I barely do it.
It’s actually fun.
When I used to drink all the time, there was a lot more darkness to it.
It was less about fun, and more about not having to feel stuff.
So getting to the place where I can enjoy a cocktail every now and then has been nice.
Alright, let’s dive into my second random thought this afternoon…
– I talked in my email yesterday about the power of having people who root for you.
The response to that email was crazy.
So many readers identified with my story…
And the fact that I never really had anyone in my corner for most of my life.
So I just really want to reiterate that.
It’s crucial.
Having someone who can see your potential (whether you’re brand new or you’re running a $100 million dollar company) is necessary.
You need someone who has your back when those little bits of doubt creep in.
– The path to making it in this industry is very SIMPLE (it’s not necessarily easy, but it is simple).
This stood out to me more and more over the last few days.
If you look at other careers like being an architect, or a doctor, or a lawyer, there’s a LOT that goes into that.
Tons of training…
Lots of school…
Yet over and over again we see copywriters and offer owners who are succeeding within 6 months of getting started.
Think about that.
That doesn’t usually happen.
Yet we see it over and over again.
We even see people succeeding at a super young age…
Like Kimi Du who’s 16…
Ed Reay who’s 19…
And Areeba Ahmed who’s 20.
You can’t do that in many industries.
But in this one you can.
Like I said the path is simple.
You just have to follow it…
And surround yourself with the right people who are willing to help you.
I’m not really sure how to wrap this up…
But I gotta take off.
So hope this was valuable for you.
Enjoy your Sunday.
