Every Sunday I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.
Sometimes these things are about business…
Sometimes they’re about life…
And other times they’re just truly random.
So with that said…
Let’s jump into the first thing that’s on my mind this morning.
1. Nearly everything is harder to do than what it’s sold to you as
When you’re selling something, you always want to make it sound as easy as possible.
Why?
Because most people don’t want to put in a lot of effort.
They want easy results.
This is why you’ll see promises like…
– the 7 word question that makes women want you
– done-for-you Amazon stores
– make $1200 a month with Airbnb working just an hour a week
All of these sound good when you hear them…
But usually the reality of what’s required from you is quite different.
Simply saying 7 words to a woman at a bar isn’t going to make her fall for you.
There’s a lot more to it.
You need to be confident…
Flirty…
Know how to escalate…
All that stuff matters.
But the reality is that kind of stuff doesn’t sell.
It’s the easy, push-button stuff that sells…
The magic bullets…
So for you, you need to be aware of this.
And simply understand that it won’t be as easy as it sounds.
It’ll take more effort on your part…
And that’s ok.
Simply being aware of that will put you in a better spot to succeed in the long run.
Alright let’s hop to the next thing on my mind this morning…
2. When you find something that works, do more of it
Everytime I write about email copy…
Or I host a call on email marketing…
It does better than any other topic to my list.
So knowing that, I’m gonna do more stuff around email over the next few months.
I’m already planning to do a training on how I write my daily emails in September.
And then I’m also going to create a new opt-in for my list which will be an “email copy cheatsheet”.
Basically the cheatsheet will show you everything you need for a high converting email.
I’ll dig into subject lines…
And why the first sentence of your email is so important…
I’ll also give ya examples of angles that work really well in email copy.
It’ll be a step-by-step breakdown of how to write a high converting email.
I’ll probably start putting that together this week.
But my big point here is simple…
You need to pay attention to what’s working and what’s not working in your biz.
And when you find something that works (like email copy does for me) then you should do MORE of it.
Cause the hardest thing to figure out is what works and what your list wants.
So once you figure it out, then just keep doing more of it (more products, more calls, more content etc)
This is a very simple idea.
But it’s one that can make you a lot of dough if you follow it.
Alright let’s do one more of these…
3. Whether you like Andrew Tate, or you hate his guts, him being removed from social media should alarm you
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen the rise in popularity of Andrew Tate on social media.
He’s an ex kickboxing champ who’s like a combination of Dan Bilzerian and Donald Trump.
The dude just says whatever is on his mind…
And really has no filter…
Sometimes I very much agree with what he says, and the advice he gives to young men…
Other times, he says shit that’s reprehensible and I wonder if he has any brain cells.
But all that’s beside the point…
And not really my issue…
My issue is that he was recently booted from pretty much every major social media site – TikTok, Instagram, Facebook etc…
And it doesn’t seem like he was booted for posting content that was against their rules.
It seems like he was booted for who he is and what he stands for.
Which is alarming to me.
For example if he says something hateful about women on his podcast (but he doesn’t post the clip to Youtube or TikTok), I don’t think he should be banned from Tiktok or Youtube for that.
Simply banning someone because you think they’re a bad person is a slippery slope.
Cause the reality is, you have people on Twitter, Youtube and Tik Tok who have comitted actual atrocities.
I mean you have dictators who have killed thousands of people on Twitter.
You have people who’ve been convicted of rape and domestic violence on social media.
You have literal Nazi’s with Facebook accounts…
So if you’re gonna ban Andrew Tate because you don’t like who he is as a person, then you better be banning all these people as well.
And if you start doing that, where does it end?
Does Joe Biden get banned because he voted for the Iraq war which ended up killing thousands of innocent people?
Does Martha Stewart get banned cause she was convicted of insider trading?
Does OJ Simpson get banned because it’s obvious to anyone with a brain that he killed his ex-wife?
These are all legit questions.
And if you’re gonna ban someone for WHO they are (and not for what they posted) then this all comes into play.
I mean, I 100% understand banning someone if they post content that goes against your rules.
I’m fine with that.
And if Andrew Tate did that, then feel free to ban the guy.
But that’s not what this feels like.
It feels like these social media companies don’t like what Andrew Tate says, and they don’t like his influence, so they don’t want him on their platform.
And that doesn’t sit well with me.
Part of the beauty of a free society is people being able to say what they want (even if you disagree with their views).
And I think we’re better off as a whole when people’s views aren’t censored.
That’s my 2 cents.
Alright, I need to wrap this up.
Time for some breakfast.
Hope you got a nugget or two from this.
Enjoy your Sunday,
– Justin
