Every Sunday morning I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times they’re just truly random.

So with that said…

Let’s jump into the first random thing on my mind this morning…

1.  The easiest way to improve your copy (no matter what level you’re at) is to understand your buyer better

You should always ask yourself if there’s another layer (a deeper one) that you could understand your buyer at.

For example…

A few months back I was at a mastermind with Perry Belcher, and Perry was telling me about his “gun list” and what was selling well to that list.

“Basically any kind of weapon sells well” he said.

And by that he meant things like crossbows, knives and blow guns.

Which makes sense…

People on a gun list, are gonna be big collectors of weapons.

But then we took it a little deeper…

Someone at the mastermind had a really nice hunting knife on them and asked Perry if his list would buy this.

“How much is this knife?” Perry asked.

“Around $200” the guy replied.

Perry thought for a second…

“Nah, my guys wouldn’t buy this knife.  But they would buy 20 shitty knives for $200.  They’re volume buyers”

When Perry said that my immediate thought was “damn this dude knows his buyers”.

That’s what I mean when I say you want to understand your buyers on a deeper level.

Most people only understand these things on the surface level.

But the easiest shortcut for writing better copy is to understand your buyer on a deeper level.

So do everything you can to make that a reality.

Alright let’s hop to the second thing on my mind this morning.

2.  If you’re busy, plan your time off (otherwise you’ll never take the time off)

Last week I finally booked a week off in early April to go to Mexico.

My plan when I’m there is to not work…

No emails…

No anything…

Just relax and enjoy myself.

Now here’s what’s important about this…

This vacation has been on my calendar since last December.

Why?

Because I know if I don’t actually plan them in advance, they won’t happen.

I’ll just keep working…

Even if I know I need a break.

The structure of actively planning out a vacation (or even a day off) is crucial for me.

So my advice?

If you’re the ambitious type…

Plan your time off far in advance.

Don’t wait til you need a break.

Have that vacation already planned out…

And then protect that time off with all your might (no canceling at the last minute cause you have too much work)

Works like a charm.

Alright, I’m gonna do one more of these…

3.  Finding “what works for you” in all areas of your life, will make your days infinitely better

Yesterday, I had one of my favorite kind of “chill days”.

I woke up later than usual…

I went to the Ocean Lab and did 40 minutes in the sauna and did some cold plunges.

I cooked a nice ribeye on the grill for lunch.

And then in the afternoon I went to Barton Springs (a big, natural pool in Austin) with a friend of mine and we hung in the sun for a few hours.

For me this is a perfect kind of “chill day”.

I got to be outside…

I got to hang with some friends…

There was no agenda or a need to “do something”.

I just kinda went with the flow.

And I’ll tell you, it’s taken me a long time to learn that this is what I like to do.

I used to be of the mindset that I always needed to be “doing something”.

So even if it was a Saturday, and I wasn’t working, I would still pack it full of all kinds of shit like planning my week, cleaning the house, going to the gym, answering emails etc…

Why?

Cause I felt like “doing nothing” was a waste of time.

But luckily my view on that has changed.

Now I understand that a lot of the stuff that I truly enjoy (like sitting in the sun) is the epitome of “doing nothing”.

And I’m ok with that.

It works for me.

It helps me to relax…

And I just flat out enjoy it.

Which brings me back to my original point…

One of the best things you can do is to figure out “what works for you and what doesn’t”.

Your idea of a chill day might be completely different than mine.

It might be taking your kids to the park…

Or spending a couple hours shopping…

It doesn’t really matter what it is…

The key is that you figure out what you like, and what works for you.

You’ll be happier…

And a lot more fulfilled.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for ya today.

Hope ya got a nugget or two from this email.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Note: If you like the insights I share in my emails, you may be interested in working with me in my mentoring program.

You’ll get to learn from me, Stefan Georgi and a group of A-list copywriters every single day.

We’ve already helped hundreds of copywriters hit multiple 6-figures in income like Amber Peoples, Tanner Henkel, Mario Castelli, Scott Connorton, Michael Rochin, Scott Mills, Krista Edsall and more.

We’ve also helped offer owners like Troy Ericson, Steve Gunn, VShred, Scott Phillips and Conor Boyland to scale their offers to hundreds (and even thousands) of sales a day.

If you want to work with us, get feedback on your copy, and potentially 2-5x where you’re at now…

Then I suggest giving this a read and seeing if it’s for you…
