Every Sunday I like to share 3 random things that are on my mind.
Sometimes these things are about business…
Sometimes they’re about life…
And other times they’re completely random.
So with that said…
Let’s jump in to the first thing on my mind this morning…
1. Get clear on what your business is and what it isn’t
Yesterday I had a convo with my buddy Jimmi Sparling who has a successful supplement offer for neuropathy.
Jimmi was saying that they recently tried to launch multiple other supplements like anti-aging and energy supplements.
Most of those offers did not convert..
After watching the offers falter, Jimmi had a realization that they are NOT a supplement company.
They shouldn’t be going wide and making joint pain supps or heart health supps.
Their core buyer cares about neuropathy.
So now Jimmi is creating other products (outside of supplements) to help people manage their neuropathy.
Which is gonna be a game-changer for his business.
Cause now he’s clear about what his business really is (and what it isn’t).
Alright, let’s jump into my next thought…
2. Prioritize what matters to you
At different points in your life, different things will matter more to you.
When I was 25, I only cared about making money.
So my sole focus was building my business.
I put that over friendships, girlfriends and even my health.
Over time as I’ve made more money, my focus has shifted.
Now I care more about things like feeling fulfilled…
Having good relationships…
And having less stress in my life.
Almost everyone I know goes through changes like this.
What matters to you will change over time.
The key is simply being aware of the changes.
And start prioritizing what’s important to you.
That’s what matters.
There’s no right answer for what should be a priority.
It only matters that it’s important to you.
Alright let’s do one more of these…
3. People do business with people that they like
After hanging with over 20 entrepreneurs this weekend in Utah, one thing stood out to me above all else…
Everyone here is easy to get along with.
They’re laid back…
There’s no friction in the group…
I know multiple people that would love to be in this group, but they’d probably never be allowed in.
Why?
Cause they’re not fun to be around.
Which is something I can relate to.
The 25 year-old version of me probably wouldn’t be a good fit for this group.
I was always angry…
I had a big chip on my shoulder…
And I thought I knew more than everyone else.
At 25, I wasn’t the kind of person you’d want to be around for 3 days.
And that brings me back to my original point…
People like doing business with people that they like.
If you’re not an “easy hang”…
Or if you cause friction in groups…
You’re not gonna get very far.
Cause no one will want to be around you.
And in the end, that matters a lot more than how big your business is, or how great of a copywriter you are.
People want to be around people that they like.
So there ya go…
That’s the 3 things on my mind this morning.
I’m hopping on a flight back to Austin here in a bit.
Hope you got a nugget or two from this.
Enjoy your Sunday…
