Here’s a few random things that are on my mind this Sunday morning…

1.  There’s always room at the higher end in any market

The other day I bought a candle from Le Labo that was $75.

Seriously, $75 for a candle.

I know how insane that is…

You can get candles for $10.

But I like this candle a lot, so I bought it (actually I bought two of them).

And there’s a good business lesson you can learn from this.

In every market, there’s always room at the higher end of the market.

For example…

– You can get a really nice steak for $65 at most steakhouses in America. Or you can go to a place like CUT in Vegas and spend $200 on a steak

– You can get a decent pair of joggers for $40 at Topman or Urban Outfitters.  Or you can spend $250 on a pair from John Elliot

– You can get a week’s worth of groceries from WalMart for $50.  Or you can go to Whole Foods and spend closer to $100.

– You can board your dog at a regular boarding facility for $30 a day.  Or you can board them at a luxury dog hotel for $120 a day (they even get their own queen sized bed)

– You can get a suit for $200 at Men’s Warehouse.  Or you can get a custom-made suit for $3,000

– You can get a basic notebook for $3 at Target.  Or you can get a moleskin notebook for $15.

I could go on and on with this…

But my point is simple.

Most people try to compete at the low end of a market.  But there’s almost ALWAYS more room at the higher end of the market.

Why?  Cause there’s always a group of people willing to pay more.

2.  Are the holidays going to be a time to relax for you…or will they add more stress to your life?

When I was a kid, I used to watch my mom run around during the holidays like a chicken with her head cut off.

She’d be stressed beyond belief…

And angry the whole time…

Even as a kid, I thought it was crazy.

The holidays are supposed to be a time where you enjoy each other’s company.

And you relax…

Making yourself even more stressed than usual seems insane.

And I think this is especially true if you’re an entrepreneur.

You already work too much.

You’re already stressed all the time.

If you’re smart, the holidays should be a good time for you to recharge your battery.

Get away from the computer…

Relax…

Be a normal person for once.

That’s what I’ll be doing.

3.  How I went from 157 lbs to 183 lbs (in a good way)

In the summer of 2019, I lost a bunch of fat to try and get lean.

I was down to 157 lbs at my lowest weight.

Which was way too skinny for my liking.

So this past year, I’ve been focused on building some muscle.

This morning I weighed in at 183 lbs.

Which is a weight I feel good at.

My routine over the last 15 months or so has been quite simple…

– lift 3x a week at Starting Strength focusing on things like squats, deadlifts, presses and more

– Eat 3400+ calories a day

– Get my hormones in order with peptides

I’m still doing the carnivore diet, so eating 3400 calories a day of just meat is not easy.

It’s like 3 lbs of meat a day.

But it’s working.

But the big thing for me has been the consistency on both the diet and lifting fronts.

I’ve probably only missed 3 workouts in a 7 month span.

And 6 out of 7 days a week I’m hitting my calorie goals for the day.

Is it perfect?

No.

But I’m being way more consistent than usual

And the results prove that.

Just goes to show that when you follow a proven plan, and you put in the work, results will follow.

That’s all I got for ya today.

Hope ya have a good Sunday.
