Every Sunday I like to talk about 3 random things that are on my mind.
Some of these are business things…
Others are about stuff that’s going on my life.
With that said, let’s jump into the 3 things on my mind…
1. It will be interesting to see what the plans are for Coronavirus now that it’s spiking again.
This past week was the worst week on record in the U.S. for COVID cases.
So they’re gooing up dramatically.
And we’re already seeing more strict lockdowns taking place in Europe because the same thing is happening over there.
I’m not sure what the solution is to all of this.
But none of them are good.
Option 1 is to just keep doing what we’re doing and ride it out. People will continue to stay home. 80% of people aren’t traveling. Cases will continue to go up, and we’ll probably be at a million deaths by the end of 2021. If the vaccine is effective, things might be able to return to normal by 2022. Any business related to the travel industry will continue to suffer.
Option 2 is a strict lockdown like we’re seeing in parts of Europe. No leaving your house. No doing anything that’s non-essential. I can’t imagine people ever following this in the U.S. There will be enormous pushback. I think this kind of thing can help temporarily, but once you open back up the cases will probably just spike again, so not really sure it’s even worth it.
Either option is not fun.
And there will be a lot of jobs and lives lost because of them.
But a decision will need to be made soon because things aren’t getting any better.
2. If everyone in your life is on one side of the aisle politically, you need new friends
A friend of mine who runs a mastermind, messaged me the other day and said that a guy in his mastermind actually dropped out because my friend was voting for Joe Biden.
My initial reaction to this was to laugh.
But honestly it’s kind of sad that people think like this.
I like that most of the people in my life are all over the map when it comes to politics.
Some are hardcore socialists. Others are more right-wing than Trump. And the rest are in the middle somewhere.
And I’m perfectly OK with that.
As long as they’re not annyoning about it…
And shoving their views down my throat, I could care less what they believe.
That’s their right.
But the bigger issue here is that you’re doing yourself a disservice if you only hang out with people who think like you.
Cause you’re living in an echo chamber.
They read the same shit you do.
They listen to the same shit you do.
There’s nobody to challenge your opinions.
Which might make you feel good…
But it’s not good for your growth as a person.
I’m always open to hearing different opinions.
Doesn’t mean I’ll agree with them…
But who knows…
They might change my mind.
But that only happens when you surround yourself with people who are different than you.
And that’s becoming a rare thing these days…
Alright, let’s hop into the 3rd thing on my mind…
