Every Sunday I like to talk about 3 random things that are on my mind.
Sometimes these things are business lessons…
Sometimes they’re life lessons…
And other times, they’re just completely random.
With that said…
Let’s jump into the first thing on my mind this Sunday morning.
1. I’ve talked a lot this year about simplifying your business and narrowing your focus.
I did it and it’s paid big dividends for me.
For example, I had probably 7-8 different things on my plate last year, such as…
– writing copy for clients
– running my first coaching program
– running Copy Accelerator
– monthly consulting with clients
– 1-on-1 consulting days
– potentially investing in other businesses
– being a part in other courses/trainings
– creating the Justin Goff Marketing Letter
There’s probably more I’m forgetting…
But you get the picture.
In 2020 I have drastically narrowed this down.
And now my focus is on 3 things…
1. Copy Accelerator (this also includes the LITE program)
2. Justin Goff Marketing Letter
3. Another secret project that will launch in 2021
Everytime another opportunity pops up for me, if it doesn’t fit into one of these 3 boxes, I pretty much turn it down.
Why?
Because that would just take away from my focus.
I don’t need to do 8 things at once.
I need to do 1-2 things really well.
So that’s what I’m focusing on.
Alright, let’s hop to the second thing that’s on my mind this morning.
2. We’ve had a bunch of overcast days here in Austin in the last two weeks, which I’m realizing has a big effect on my mood.
So if it’s grey and gloomy, I’m just not as motivated.
But if it’s sunny and 90 degrees, I’m happier.
I have more energy.
I’m realizing this is one of the reasons I left Ohio.
Cause we had a lot of grey, gloomy weather in Ohio.
So if you’re one of those people stuck in a placee with shitty weather, and you’ve always been on the fence about moving somewhere else…
I’m betting the move will be worth it.
Cause simply being in a better mood day in and day out is hard to put a price on.
3. One of my goals this year was to take at least 3 vacations throughout the year.
Corona obviously threw a wrench in those plans.
So I haven’t taken a real vacation yet.
But I’m planning a few vacations (no work, no computer) in October, November and December.
Some of these will be short (like 3 days)…
While others will be longer (like around Christmas)…
I’ll probably just go somewhere in Texas that I can drive to.
Reason I’m telling you this is because I believe taking time off is a MUST if you’re an entrepreneur.
You need time away.
You need to recharge and to not think about work.
Even if it’s just for a few days.
It’s one of the keys to avoiding burn out.
You can’t be all work, all the time.
It’s just not sustainable (I learned that one the hard way).
Anyways…
Hope you enjoyed these 3 random thoughts…
That’s all I got for ya today.
Enjoy your Sunday.
