Take a look at this picture…
That’s me (in the middle with the blue polo) in 2006.
It was the first marketing event I ever went to.
And I didn’t fit in at all.
Most of the guys in that picture with me were making 6 or 7 figures a year as poker affiliates.
I on the other hand, was just a broke college kid scraping by on $300 a month.
I surely didn’t “belong” in that room.
But I was serious about making more money as an affiliate, so I made it happen.
Whats funny is that all the guys at this event were “living large” while we were there.
They stayed at the $400 a night Wynn hotel.
They were regularly getting $200 steaks for dinner…
But me?
I was holed up at Circus Circus.
I think I paid $39 a night to stay there.
I still remember the cigarette-filled smell when I entered my room.
It nearly knocked me out.
For three days I suffered through the competing smells of cigarettes and musty carpets.
That place was truly a shit hole.
But that’s what I had to do to be there.
I didn’t have much money.
So I did everything on the cheap.
When all the guys were out at Morton’s, I was making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in my hotel room.
That was my entire weekend.
And guess what?
It was MORE than worth it.
Cause I made some REAL connections at that event that really helped me believe in myself.
A few of the guys I got drinks with wound up telling me they believed I could make a living doing this online marketing thing.
Which was a shock to me.
Cause at the time, I didn’t think I could do it.
I knew I wanted to…
But I didn’t have the confidence in myself to think I could actually make a living with it.
I had never seen anyone do anything like that.
But a few guys there thought I had potential.
And just the simple fact that they believed in me really changed things for me.
I went from making $300 a month…
To around $1800 a month…
And when I was thinking about being an affiliate full time after graduating from college, a lot of those guys encouraged me to go for it.
They saw my potential when I didn’t.
And that helped propel me to $3k a month…
And eventually to $5k a month…
I thought I needed a lot of tactical stuff at the time (like SEO rankings)…
But really I just needed confidence in myself more than anything.
Maybe you can relate to this…
Maybe not…
But I wanted to share that story because if you’re an up-and-comer…
It’s easy to look at someone like me and think that I’ve always been successful.
Or that I always believed in myself.
But that’s far from the truth.
I struggled for YEARS before I made any real money.
It all seemed like a pipe-dream.
But simply being around people that were already successful was a big needle mover for me.
It made me see the potential in myself…
And made me realize for the first time that I could do this.
And that made all the difference.
So…
If you feel like you’re at the point where you’re doubting yourself as a copywriter…
Or with your own offer…
And it would help to have people around you that believe in you…
I suggest you come to the event I’m putting on in a few weeks.
You can attend the event in person (in Tampa) or virtually.
I truly believe this event could be a “career maker” for you (just like that event in Vegas was for me).
So I suggest you check it out…
And see if it’s a good fit.
Would love to have ya there…
