Here’s the truth…
Creating your own offer is certainly a good way to build a list full of buyers.
However…
It’s also a lot of work.
You gotta create the product…
You gotta write a perfect VSL…
You gotta run ads…
You gotta set up merchant accounts…
And don’t even get me started on the headache of dealing with sales taxes in 50 different states…
(It drives me insane)
So while having your own offer is certainly a good way to build a quality list…
It’s also a lot of work.
And a lot of moving parts…
And the odds that you get it all right so that it converts ain’t great.
This is why my buddy Mike Geary recently pivoted away from creating his own offers to build his list…
And instead…
He started “piggybacking” on other people’s offers.
For example…
Instead of sending traffic to an offer he owns…
Mike just creates a simple opt-in page…
Something like this…
And once people opt-in to this page…
He immediately sends them to a proven sales page owned by someone else.
And once they’re on that sales page…
If they buy, he gets paid as an affiliate.
So not only is making affiliate sales…
But he’s also collecting new opt-ins for his email list from the opt-in page.
It’s pretty smart.
And last I talked to Mike, he was putting over 180,000 people on his list each month using this method.
Which is crazy…
But it just goes to show if you don’t want to go through all the hassle of creating your own offer to build a list…
You don’t have to.
You can simply “piggyback” on other people’s offers like Mike is.
Now Mike is usually hush-hush about this stuff.
And unless you’re a close friend of his, he never shares what he’s up to…
