Back in 2017 when I met my buddy Alec he was a frustrated financial advisor.
He was making good money…
And “on paper” he had what looked like a good life.
But inside, Alec was pretty miserable.
He hated wearing a suit to the office everyday…
And he couldn’t stand listening to his pea-brained boss tell him what to do.
So Alec was looking for a fresh start…
And it was around this time that I saw some potential in what Alec was writing.
I noticed that he told stories very well.
And was naturally good at putting emotion into his writing.
So I decided to help him.
I wasn’t working at the time…
So I had a lot of free time on my hands.
Which is why I offered to mentor him to teach him how to be an email copywriter.
And over the next few months I put him on a strenuous program where he had to write 3 emails every single day.
He wasn’t getting paid for these.
Just writing for the experience.
Within a few months he got his first client.
It was writing affiiate emails for Mike Geary/Ed Scow/Dave Sinick.
That was a turning point for Alec.
Cause the idea of being a copywriter wasn’t truly “real” to him yet.
But once he landed that first client, it became real.
And since then Alec has gone on to land a few more high-profile clients.
He’s even managing their full email sends now.
And it’s why he’s been able to make 6-figures the last two years as an email copywriter.

We talked about his struggles along the way…
How he doubted himself too much in the beginning…
How his procrastination used to get the best of him…
And how he finally broke through all that.
