“I have no idea how I’m going to make money“
This is what Scott Conorton said to himself last March after he quit his 9-5 sales job.
Scott had wanted to leave his job for a while…
And pursue something on his own.
However the moment he decided to quit, all hell broke loose in the world.
That’s when COVID officially landed in the US and Canada and started spreading like wildfire.
Restaurants were boarded up…
Stores had to close…
And even the NBA canceled the remainder of it’s season.
“That was a reality check for me” Scott said.
“I had no idea how I was going to make money, and my wife was breathing down my neck telling me to figure it out”.
So with not a lot of options…
Scott started searching online for ways to make money.
He went down a couple different rabbit holes…
And eventually landed on copywriting.
He learned about Stefan Georgi and I.
He started watching our Youtube videos.
After learning about copy, Scott was convinced he could do this.
So he decided to buy my upsell course I was promoting at the time (The OLOF method).
Scott saw a big opportunity with upsells…
And figured it was a way to set himself apart from all the other copywriters out there.
So he studied how to write upsells…
And started reaching out to potential clients…
It took a little bit of time to land a client, but eventually he got his first client.
And Scott was able to help her get a nice win by simply following the OLOF method I taught in the course.
After this Scott was now officially a PAID copywriter (a big moment for any copywriter).
That first year (2020) Scott made around $10,000 writing copy.
Which isn’t a ton of money…
But that year really set the stage for a huge 2021 for him.
Cause in 2021, Scott ended the year making around $140,000 (Scott’s Canadian so I’m estimating here based on conversion rates).
So he went from $10k in year one…
To $140k in year two…
That’s a massive leap.
And one that is paying big dividends for him and his family (his wife is no longer breathing down his neck about making money lol)
Anyways…
Scott’s story is pretty amazing.
And he’s a shining example of how quickly you can hit 6-figures as a copywriter if you follow the right plan.
