One of the best copywriting success stories I’ve seen over the last few years is from a guy named Scott Mills.
You may know Scott…
Or you may have heard of him from my emails or my Youtube channel.
What’s crazy to me about Scott is that when I met him in 2018, he was pulling in around $100k a year as a copywriter.
Which is good money…
But over the last few years he was able to build upon that $100k he was making, and turn it into over $400k a year!
So in just a few years, Scott 4x’d what he was making.
Which is impressive.
And it kinda begs the question…
“How did he do it?”
So let’s dig into that.
When I interviewed Scott for my Youtube channel earlier this year, here’s what he said led to him being able to 4x his income…
1. His copy got better simply from writing everyday over the last few years (which led to more gigs and more people wanting to hire him)
2. He raised his copywriting fees, and started including performance bonuses and royalties into his agreements
3. He worked on his mindset around money and success
And then the fourth thing he did is the one I really want to focus on today.
And that’s the fact that Scott became a much faster writer.
A few years ago when he was making $100k a year, he was taking 4-6 weeks to write a sales page for a client.
But now?
He can knock one out in 1 or 2 weeks.
So instead of being able to write 8-10 sales pages a year, he can now do 20+ sales pages a year.
AKA he can make a lot more money now.
I can tell you from experience, being able to write fast is a very common trait among the BEST copywriters.
I’ve seen Stefan Georgi write a full keto sales page in 3 days.
I’ve seen Chris Haddad write one of his infamous dating VSL’s in a single afternoon.
Hell, I once stayed at Jon Benson’s house in San Diego and watched him write a 70 page VSL for our Patriot Power Greens offer in just three days.
This should be a clue to you…
And if all these TOP copywriters are making writing faster a priority for themselves…
Then so should you.
Cause if it takes you 2 months to write a sales page…
Or hours upon hours to write an email…
