A few months back, I told my buddy Joe (who’s a dating coach) that he should run a 1-Day Cash Machine to his list cause they had been working so well for me.
Joe was open to it, but he was a little hesitant of the idea…
Why?
Cause he’s not that great at email copy…
And his list is only like 1100 people…
So he wasn’t sure it was gonna work for him…
But I had a feeling it would do well.
So I gave him a little nudge…
And being the “go getter” that he is…
He got right on it and started emailing his list about the special Zoom call he was hosting on “how to meet women during the daytime”.
Basically his hook was that when women are out at bars, they’re getting hit on all night, and you’re just one of ten drunk guys that’s trying to get her attention.
But if you meet a woman at the farmer’s market…
Or at the grocery store…
It will really stand out to her.
She’ll feel like it was fate…
And she’ll see you in a very different light than a guy she meets at the bar.
So that’s the basic angle he went with…
And he emailed his list everyday leading up to the call.
He was sharing stories of women he’d met at Whole Foods…
And women he met walking around Zilker park…
His list was loving the stories…
And by the time the launch was over, Joe had 12 guys sign-up for his call.
Which made him a little over $2300.
Obviously not a ton of money…
But Joe was quite happy with it.
PLUS…
One of the guys on the call also ended up signing up for his higher-priced coaching after the call.
So all in all it was a nice win for Joe’s little list.
But here’s what’s most interesting to me about the whole thing.
And the reason I wanted to write to you…
Joe actually did a LOT of things WRONG with his 1-Day Cash Machine.
For example…
He didn’t even have a checkout page for people to sign-up for the call!
Seriously.
He had people send him money on Paypal.
So had he had an actual checkout page where people could easily pay, he probably would have gotten a lot more people to sign up.
Yet despite messing that up…
He still had 12 people sign-up…
And he still made $2300 (plus whatever that guy paid him for coaching).
Point being…
You can get a lot of stuff wrong with the 1-Day Cash Machine and still make yourself a lot of dough…
You can send sub-par emails…
You can use Paypal instead of a checkout page…
And in the end it will still work.
Cause if you do a call on a topic that your list is dying to know about, and you create some urgency around it, people will sign-up.
