his wife wanted him to get a “real job”…then he made 150k writing copy (here’s how)

“I think you need to give up this copywriting thing and get a real job”

This is what Scott Connorton’s wife said to him in March of 2020 right when COVID hit.

At the time, Scott wasn’t making any money as a copywriter…

And he had just quit his sales job to try and do his own thing…

However COVID screwed all that up…

The direct mail project he was planning on writing copy for had to be put on hold.

Which meant he wasn’t getting paid.

So Scott was a little freaked out…

He didn’t know how he was gonna make money…

Or support his family…

And to make matters worse, his wife was not pleased with his choice.

She knew Scott was always jumping from one thing to the next…

And figured this was just another “shiny object” he got infatuated with.

So she wanted him to get a “real job”…

Something that was more stable, that could take care of their family. 

Well…

Luckily for Scott (and his family) he didn’t listen.

Cause today, just a year later, Scott is crushing it as a copywriter.

He went from making around $10k as a copywriter in 2020…

To now being on pace to make $150k as a copywriter in 2021.

So a huge jump in income in 12 months…

Most copywriters are not able to hit 6-figures this quickly (I know I never did).

So I decided to sit down with Scott this week and grill him on exactly how he did it.

And Scott shared with me some of his struggles as a first year copywriter…

What he’s doing to get clients…

And how he’s able to make 6-figures despite being a relatively new writer.
