Back in 2008, Dave Sinick made the tough decision to drop out of college and try to make it on his own.
Everyone around him thought he was nuts…
His parents weren’t happy.
And his friends didn’t understand what he was doing.
But deep down, Dave knew it was the right move.
He had already been dabbling in the online marketing world, and had an internship with Ryan Lee (one of the big names in the fitness space at that time).
So he was learning a lot.
That gave him the confidence to partner with a few people who needed help behind the scenes in their business.
One of those guys was Adam Gilad (who is in the dating space)…
And the other was John Romaniello (who is in the fitness space)…
Dave ran all the operations, launches and marketing for these guys.
He was the man behind the curtain making it all happen.
But after a few years of this, Dave got the itch to do his own thing.
So he partnered with Mike Geary to buy a website called “Paleohacks”.
At the time, it was a Yahoo Answers like site that was all about paleo.
It had HUGE amounts of traffic.
However, the guys running it didn’t know how to monetize it.
Dave and Mike saw a big opportunity there.
So they bought it, and Dave immediately got to work with monetizing it.
And one of the main things they did to make money from it was selling cookbooks.
They started with one cookbook.
And eventually put out more and more.
Over the years, Dave has perfected the “free + shipping” model of selling cookbooks.
And in just a few years, he’s sold over a million cookbooks.
Today, Paleohacks has 13 employees, and does around $11 million in sales a year.
So they’re killing it.
I recently sat down with Dave to grill him on his story, and to pick-his-brain on how his free + shipping model works with his cookbooks.
Well that interview just went live on my Youtube channel.
So if you want to check it out…
