Great email JG, one question for you…
I’m interested in having my own list in the bodybuilding niche. My goal is to sell coaching and workout templates. I’m not known in the niche at all, so I’m wondering how hard it would be for me to build a list?

This is always such an odd question to me.
Why?
Because the large majority of people who build email lists are NOT known when they start building that list.
No one in the golf niche knew who Brixton Albert was, and now he’s got a huge list of golfers with Performance Golf…
No one in the gun niche knew who Caleb Osborne was, and now he has a big list of gun enthusiasts…
No one in the guitar niche knew who Jonathan Boyd was, and now he has a big list of guitar players with Breakthrough Guitar…
This is how it is for 90% of people.
Most of the people who become “big names” usually become big names AFTER they build their list (not before it).
Same thing was true for me when I built my first list in the fitness space back in 2010.
In 2010 I was not the “Justin Goff” you know today.
Nobody knew who I was.
I was nothing more than a middling freelance copywriter who was scraping by on $3500 a month.
However despite no one knowing who I was…
I was still able to build a 38,000 person list in the fitness space!
Which is nothing to sneeze at.
Cause that list wound up making me $210,000 in profit in 2010!
So my ability to build a list had nothing to do with people knowing who I was…
Or having connections…
I did it as an unknown.
So I don’t want you to get hung up on this dumb idea that you need to be a big name guru to build a list.
Cause you don’t.
90% of the lists you’re on now were started by people who were NOT known when they started their list.
So don’t let being an unknown stop you…
Cause you’re in the same spot that most successful list owners were in when they started their list…
So that’s my 2 cents on the topic…
