Piggybacking on yesterday’s email, I’m gonna show you my thought process behind the new course I’m putting together.
So I mentioned yesterday that I’m going to do a 1-day training (on Zoom) on how to write “Justin style” emails.
So basically I’ll show you how I write the emails to my list each day…
I’ll show you how I come up with new ideas to write about everyday…
And how I choose the stories I use…
And I’ll even dive into how I use these personality-based emails to sell (I usually make $20k-$35k when I promote something to my list)
So I’m gonna teach you all that (and more) when I eventually release this 1-day training.
However…
I want to talk about the decisions that happen BEFORE the training is even made.
Most importantly, the decision I made of what the topic of the 1-day training should be.
Cause I had a lot of different options I was considering for this training such as…
– writing affiliate swipes for emails
– an advanced copywriting course
– how to build an email list
– writing “Justin style” emails
All of these ideas would do well.
So I don’t think I could go wrong with any of these.
But let’s say I picked another topic for this training.
A topic like “how to do copy research”.
Is a course on research valuable?
Yep.
But is it something people are REALLY clamoring for?
Not really.
If I put all this effort into a course about copy research, my gut says it would be a middle of the road, C+ kind of offer.
It wouldn’t totally bomb…
But it wouldn’t do huge numbers either.
Now compare that with me making a course on email…
And I know from experience that anything around email ALWAYS sells well to my list.
It’s what I get the most questions about…
And anytime I write about email, or do a training on email, people show up in droves…
So I’m gonna take that data, and use it to create a training that people REALLY want to buy.
Cause that’s what I want…
I want to have an offer that people REALLY want.
Not just a middle-of-the-road offer…
This is a super important concept.
Cause if I created the course on copy research, no amount of great copy or ninja selling techniques are going to turn that into an A+ offer.
Cause it’s not a sexy topic.
It’s not what people REALLY want.
But with email, it is something that people want.
Point being…
If you want to make a lot of sales, you have to start with an offer that people REALLY want.
That’s the most important part.
Cause an A+ offer with good copy is a homerun.
So if you only take one thing away from this email, let it be that.
You want to start with an A+ offer that people REALLY want.
Hope this was helpful for you.
Enjoy your Thursday,
– Justin
