Piggybacking on my email from yesterday, here’s a few more lessons from the $21k launch I just did for the Copy Legends swipe file…
The reason I’m sharing these lessons is so that you can take the lessons I learn during a launch, and apply them to your own copy (or your client’s copy).
That way we both win.
Let’s dive in to the first lesson…
1. I used to do launches Mon-Sun (7 days), but this time I did it Mon-Tues (9 days) and it was much better
This is an idea I swiped from the guys who do big ole’ webinar launches.
None of them end their launches on a Sunday night.
It always ends in the middle of the week.
Why?
Because more people are on their computers on Tuesday than they are on Sunday.
On Sunday people are at church, at the park, spending time with their family etc…
On Tuesday, people are working.
So they’re glued to their computer.
So it’s a much better day to end the launch on.
Plus by moving it back, it gives me a few more days of promos to do as well.
So I’ll probably do most of my launches from Mon-Tues from now on, cause it just makes a lot more sense.
So that’s the first lesson I had from the launch.
Now the second lesson is something that dawned on me about 4 days into this launch…
And that’s…
2. It’s a LOT easier to come up with endless email ideas for your OWN offers than it is for affiliate offers (because you’re more passionate about your own offers, and you understand the product inside and out)
When I promote my own offers, I literally have a list of 30-40 different ideas for what I can write emails about.
Why?
Because I know the offer inside and out.
I know all the “sexy” angles that will do well.
So when I promote my own stuff, the issue is never coming up with ideas.
The issue is figuring out which ideas to cut.
Cause I usually only send 12-14 emails during a launch.
So if I have 30 ideas, then a bunch of those good ideas will have to be cut.
But when I promote an affiliate offer, this is usually not the case.
Even if I comb through the product, I’ll never truly understand that offer as well as I understand an offer that I created myself.
That ain’t gonna happen.
And if I don’t understand it as well, it’s gonna be harder to come up with ideas for emails.
Also…
No matter how good an affiliate offer is, I’m simply going to be more passionate about promoting something that’s my own offer.
Why?
Cause I know every detail of what’s in it when it’s my own offer.
And everything I’m teaching is something that I KNOW will help you to write better copy, build your list, make more money etc…
So it’s easy to be passionate about that.
Anyways…
If you find it harder to come up with hooks and ideas when promoting affiliate offers versus your own stuff, this may be why.
So something to keep in mind…
Alrighty time for me to wrap this up.
Hope you got a nugget or two from today and yesterday’s email.
Enjoy your Thursday,
– Justin
