One of the downsides that comes with getting rich is that a whole bunch of new wrinkles get thrown in the mix if you’re single and dating…
Case in point…
At the end of 2020, I was out at a Christmas party that a friend of mine was throwing when I noticed a girl near the bar that was 100% my type.
She was a petite little Mexican chick with gorgeous eyes and a bubbly smile.
If you’ve ever seen the movie Blow, she was a dead ringer for Penelope Cruz in that movie.
So I was into her right way…
However when I went over and talked to her, she did not feel the same way.
She kept looking around the room…
She wasn’t paying attention to what I was saying.
After a few minutes of this, I knew it wasn’t gonna go anywhere, so I just said “nice meeting you”, and headed back to hang out with my friends.
Now fast forward a few weeks later, and I’m having a big New Years Eve party at my house.
There’s like 60 people there…
Everyone is dancing and having a good time.
And guess who shows up?
Penelope Cruz girl!
I had no idea she was coming…
So I gave her a big hug, and took her coat.
I showed her and her friend where the drinks were, and then gave them a little tour of my house.
And this is where it got interesting…
Cause as I was giving her a tour of my house, I started to notice that she was acting very differently towards me than when we met a few weeks before.
Now she’s playfully hitting me on the arm…
And complimenting me on everything from my wall color to the blazer that I was wearing.
It was like a total 180 from the time we met.
But I was naive, and I didn’t think much of it.
So fast forward to a few weeks after this, and her and I had gone out a few times…
We grabbed sushi at my favorite spot on the east side…
I cooked steaks for us at my place…
So there was some chemistry between us…
Then one night I met her and some friends out at Native (a bar near my house).
And while I was there, my friend Chris (who happens to know Penelope Cruz girl as well) pulled me aside and basically warned me that this girl is a gold-digger, and she’s always on the hunt for a sugar daddy to take care of her.
Honestly I was a little surprised…
And I didn’t believe him at first…
But then he started listing out a bunch of guys she had dated (who I knew) and I started to see what he meant.
The picture was much clearer.
Between hearing that and seeing her sudden flip of attraction when she saw my house, it all made sense.
I was just a potential sugar daddy to her.
Someone who could spoil her and take care of her.
Needless to say, things between me and her didn’t go any further after this.
However…
I did learn a very valuable lesson.
And luckily for me it was one that didn’t cost me a bunch of money.
And that lesson ties in a lot with what I talked about on Tuesday…
Which is that when you get rich, you become a target.
You become a target for scammers…
You become a target for criminals…
And you become a target in the dating world as well.
That’s 100% true.
So while there are a LOT of upsides to getting rich…
There are downsides that come along with it.
So hopefully these emails have helped open your eyes to a few of the downsides.
I may do one more email on this tomorrow…
