Back in 2017 I nearly missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime because I was being flaky.
Here’s the story…
Early in 2017, I was asked to be a business mentor on a 9-week personal development program for men.
They wanted me to show the guys on the program how to start their own business…
The whole idea was for me to teach them things like copywriting…
And how an online business works…
Well that part was right up my alley.
I could talk about that all day.
However, the rest of the program was a HUGE committment.
It was 9-weeks.
You had to live in a house with the other 15 guys on the program.
And you also had to be in “class” with them for 6-8 hours a day.
Not to mention, the program involved travel all across the world from Vegas to Stockholm to Budapest and more.
So it was a huge committment.
And I wanted to go.
Especially because I was taking 2017 off anyway since I had just sold my business.
So it was perfect timing…
However, I was being flaky.
And waited too long to make my decision.
The last spot for the business mentor role was taken by an Australian guy named John who was a big real estate mogul.
I was a little heartbroken when I heard this.
I missed out on the entire program cause I couldn’t make a decision.
I remember beating myself up for it.
And trying to rationalize that I wouldn’t have learned that much stuff anyway.
But as down in the dumps as I was…
Things were about to change for me.
Cause about a month later, John (the other business mentor) had to drop out due to a “once in a century” real estate deal that popped up for his business.
So he had to focus on that.
That meant there was one spot open again.
I wound up snatching up the spot right away.
And it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Cause not only did I learn a lot about myself on that program.
I also met a few of my best friends – Tanner, Blake and Alec – on that program.
It was life-changing for me…
Now reason I’m telling you this is because I was being flaky, and from a stroke of luck, I was still able to do the program.
