The weird way I made my first dollar online at 14 years old

Last week I recorded an impromptu Zoom call with 3 of the best copywriters in the world…

It was me, Stefan Georgi,  Chris Haddad and Dan Ferrari. 

And one of the topics we talked about was how we all made our first dollar online.

My story of making my first buck is quite funny.

I was actually like 14 years old.  I think I was in 7th or 8th grade.

And around this time, I discovered a program called All Advantage that would pay you to surf the web.

This was back in the AOL days.

So the only way to connect to the internet in Sandusky, Ohio was through a dial-up modem that clogged up our house phone (which my mother was not happy about)

But for a week or so, my mom let me use our computer to try out this program.

After a few days of tinkering with it, I think I made like 10 bucks.

Never the one to settle for the hard route, I started searching for ways to automate this.

So I found a bot that would do the web surfing for me.

It basically just dragged my mouse up and down the screen for 10 hours a day.

But it was working.

A week later, I got a check in the mail for like $73.

I remember thinking I had struck gold. 

Cause it was the first time in my life that I was shown there was another way to make money outside of a job

Before that, the only thing I thought you could do to make money was work in a factory like my dad…

Or in a restaurant like my mom.

It never even crossed my mind that there were other ways to make money.

In the end, the All Advantage thing fell apart.

And like a week after I started it, they were out of business.

So even though I didn’t get rich from it…

It did plant a seed for me.

It showed me a possibility I had never thought of before when it came to making money.
