Over the past 14 years I’ve built numerous email lists for myself…
My first list in 2010 was in the fitness niche.
I built this list when I was a “nobody”…
I had no big JV partners…
No gurus helping me.
I was a lone wolf who built a 38,000 person list.
And I wound up making a little over $210k from my list that year…
A few years after that I switched niches, and I built a second list in the anti-aging niche.
That list went from nothing to 290,000 people in just three years.
It was a cash machine.
And in 2016 (our best year), that list brought in a little more than $4 million in pure profit.
So that list made me a lot of dough…
And it eventually led to me selling my stake in that business…
And taking a year off to travel the world…
But after being away for a year…
When I came back in 2018, I was intent on starting another list.
This time in the copywriting niche.
I wanted to teach what I knew about copy…
And about selling stuff…
So I hustled and got my first 150 subscribers on the list simply through asking people if they wanted to be on my list.
From there, I grew the list to 500 people…
Then 5000 people…
And eventually where it is today, with 18,000 people on it.
So it’s smaller than my previous lists…
But my current list makes me between $60k and $80k every month…
And I only work 2-3 hours a day these days.
So it’s a good money maker…
And it provides me a lot of free time to do other stuff I love like working with dog rescues.
So I’m quite thankful that I built a list…
